“In order to fight a disease you must know what you are facing. Knowledge is always the first step in overcoming the shadows of disease!”
Welcome to the Coastal Carolina University Disease Hunters, where science meets service and curiosity drives discovery! We are a passionate team of students and researchers dedicated to investigating the invisible threats that impact public health—from waterborne pathogens to vector-borne diseases like heartworm and HPV.
Through cutting-edge genomic research, fieldwork, and community outreach, we aim to protect our campus and surrounding communities by identifying, understanding, and preventing the spread of infectious diseases. Whether you’re here to learn, collaborate, or contribute, you’re now part of a mission that blends scientific innovation with real-world impact.
Together, we’re not just studying disease—we’re hunting it down
If you are interested in joining the lab, we interview students (Coastal Carolina University students or people that live in the area) every semester. Student must be older than 16 years old to join lab based on State Laws and University policy. Please leave us a comment or drop us a note, we would like to hear from you.
